In 1880 Honoré Fillioux, scion of the family that had been supplying the house of Hennessy with cellar master for seven generations, settled here and began to produce his own cognac. The 54 acres of vines are carefully tended, and distilling is is done on the property in classic Charentais alembic. But it is above all the prudent handling of the very old treasures stored in the cellar that accounts for that quality.
Nose: Lively in spite of its very old ageing, creamy and appetizing, offering some notes of dried and jammy fruit, with the finest rancio aromas, leather, cigar box fragrances.
Palate: It is very complex, full and rich with notes of toasted chocolate and liquorice. Very long finish with notes of honeyed and peppery spices coming through.
