In 1880 Honoré Fillioux, scion of the family that had been supplying the house of Hennessy with cellar master for seven generations, settled here and began to produce his own cognac. The 54 acres of vines are carefully tended, and distilling is is done on the property in classic Charentais alembic. But it is above all the prudent handling of the very old treasures stored in the cellar that accounts for that quality.
Nose:
It is honeyed and sweet with notes of unlit cigars, marzipan and vanilla spice, a little prune and stewed fruit note.
Palate:
It is very complex, full and rich with notes of winter spice, cocoa, prunes, sultanas and stewed fruits. Very long finish with notes of liquorice and spices coming through, toasted coffee
